The 12 equipment slots
Every Operator wears twelve pieces of gear at once: headgear, chest, legs, boots, gloves, a main hand, an off hand, two trinkets, two rings and a backpack. Each slot adds something different to your build. Armor pieces raise your Armor and Max HP, weapons decide your damage, trinkets and rings add small specialist bonuses (stealth, hunting, scrap, fishing, luck or extra defence) and the backpack decides how much you can carry back from a run.
The database below lists 118 base items (14 of them melee weapons). Every base item can drop in six rarities, so the game has more than 708 distinct pieces of gear.
Rarity and drop rates
Rarity is a straight multiplier on every number an item carries. A Godlike item is worth 3.5 times the same item in Common. The table shows the multiplier and the chance for each rarity to drop from a normal fight and from a boss.
| Rarity | Stat multiplier | Normal drop chance | Boss drop chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| COMMON | ×1.0 | 59.33% | never (a boss always drops at least Rare) |
| UNCOMMON | ×1.3 | 29.67% | never (a boss always drops at least Rare) |
| RARE | ×1.6 | 7.00% | the remaining 55% |
| EPIC | ×2.0 | 2.50% | 33% |
| LEGENDARY | ×2.5 | 1.00% | 10% |
| GODLIKE | ×3.5 | 0.50% | 2% |
How item stats are calculated
Every item has a tier from 1 to 10 (rings and trinkets cycle through tiers 1 to 5). The tier comes from its place in the progression for its slot: a Scrap Helmet is tier 1, an Apex Crown is tier 10. The slot then turns tier into numbers:
- Weapons deal tier × 6 damage before rarity. Melee weapons need no ammo and match the damage of a firearm of the same tier, then add a style bonus: heavy weapons add Max HP, blade weapons add Stamina and axe weapons add Armor.
- Headgear gives tier × 2 Armor and tier × 5 Max HP. Chest gives tier × 4 Armor and tier × 10 Max HP.
- Legs give tier × 3 Armor, boots give tier × 2 Armor, and gloves give tier × 1 Armor plus tier × 2 Damage.
- Off-hand items give tier × 5 Armor and tier × 5 Max HP.
- Backpacks add tier × 30 kg of carry capacity.
- Rings and trinkets carry one specialist bonus each: stealth, hunting, scrap salvage, fishing and foraging, luck, or a small defensive boost.
All of this is then multiplied by the rarity multiplier above and rounded. The tables list the exact result for every rarity so you can compare before you commit a rare drop to your build.
